Mandolin lessons
Practically everyone in the current Baltimore Mandolin Orchestra started out taking lessons from concertmistress emerita Joyce Adams. She attended the revived BMO's first concert back in 1975 and was enchanted by the sound of the mandolins. Shortly thereafter she started taking mandolin lessons from Conrad Gebelein. In this photo taken around 1977 Joyce is getting a few pointers from "Gebby."
Joyce became a mandolin instructor herself soon after Conrad Gebelein's death in 1981. She is one of only a handful of instructors of the purely classical mandolin method in America today. Here she is in 2010 passing on her knowledge to one of her young students. Contact Joyce at dolalady@hotmail.com or 410-335-6053.
